This garment is carefully hand crafted using an 80% Cotton, 20% Linen (the print is John Lewis) fabric that I was delighted to find. This dress is fairly structured, but as with all linen & cotton fabrics, as you wash and wear it, it will become softer. This dress is loose and will fit a size small to extra large. The waist opening is 135cm (circumference). The total length of the dress is 133cm. It has ties on the inside which can be fastened to define the waist. I have created a separate belt/scarf accessory to go with it - check out our instagram (@themerakimarketstall) for how to style it! The style I've chosen is a blend of Persian Kaftans and Pacific Islander's Mumus,, and as a third culture sewist, I hope whoever wears this piece truly appreciates the global influence of fashion! I love dabbling in natural dyes, which adhere to this fibre nicely, so if you're interested in a beet, onion, tumeric or other dye job, do reach out! This dress was created to use all the fabric purchased, so it is not only slow fashion, but zero waste as well. Mother Earth says hi! <3
